Matt Payne takes pole in Ipswich after continuing his strong form at the Ipswich Super440, claiming the weekend’s second pole.
The Grove Racing driver delivered a 1:08.3582 flying lap in Race 2 qualifying; Matt Payne takes pole in Ipswich. He narrowly beat Brodie Kostecki by just 0.0683 seconds.
Will Brown will start from third on the grid, with Chaz Mostert qualifying fourth. The contenders prepare for another important race at Queensland Raceway.
After securing pole position for both races, Payne has put himself in the perfect position to make a major statement this weekend. The Kiwi driver will be looking to turn his qualifying speed into race results and strengthen his position in the Supercars championship battle.
With a competitive field lining up behind him, all eyes will be on whether Payne can convert another pole position into victory at Ipswich.
