Practice 1 highlights

Kimi Antonelli has set the pace in Practice 1. Moreover, this is for the 2026 Formula 1 Heineken Dutch GP F1 Grand Prix at Zandvoort.

Additionally, the Dutch GP F1 saw the Mercedes driver produce a fastest lap of 1:12.949.

This made him the only driver to break into the 1:12s during the session.

Antonelli finished 0.157 seconds ahead of Lando Norris, with Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton third, a further 0.041 seconds behind.

However, the Dutch GP F1 Sprint weekend left teams with only one practice to prepare their cars before Sprint Qualifying.

For home favorite Max Verstappen, it was a more difficult start to the weekend, with the Red Bull driver finishing outside the top 10 in the only practice session.

However, Antonelli’s performance gives Mercedes a strong start as Dutch GP F1 returns after the summer break. Norris and Hamilton remain firmly in contention heading into Sprint Qualifying.

However, attention now shifts to the Sprint grid battle as Friday’s qualifying sets Saturday’s starting order for Dutch GP F1.
