Chaz Mostert and Fabian Coulthard have claimed a memorable victory in the AirTouch 500 at The Bend. They delivered Toyota its first Supercars endurance win with the new GR Supra.
Starting from 11th, the #1 Toyota battled through a race heavily affected by rain, safety cars and changing track conditions.
Additionally, the checkered flag came after 141 laps, with the race finishing under time-certain conditions.
Kai Allen and Tim Slade finished second for Grove Racing. Walkinshaw TWG Racing teammates Ryan Wood and Jaxon Evans completed the podium in third.
Pole-sitters Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazelwood were unable to convert their front-row advantage into victory.
However, the difficult conditions reshaped the race.
The result gives Mostert and Coulthard valuable momentum heading into the remaining endurance events of the season. The Bathurst 1000 is now firmly in focus.
A breakthrough win for Toyota, a huge result for Mostert and Coulthard, and a dramatic day at The Bend.
