The Adelaide Giants delivered a statement performance on Saturday night, snapping a three-game losing streak and completing a doubleheader sweep over the Sydney Blue Sox with back-to-back wins in Blacktown.

Timely hitting, tactical pressure, and standout pitching performances powered Adelaide to an 8–4 victory in Game 1 before a dramatic 4–3 win in Game 2 sealed a memorable night in the Australian Baseball League.

The Giants wasted no time asserting themselves in the opening contest, striking first in the top of the first inning. After back-to-back walks to Devin Saltiban and Jordan McArdle, Mitchell Edwards delivered a two out RBI single to open the scoring.

Adelaide doubled their lead in the third inning when Nick Ward drove in a run on a 2–0 count, continuing his strong offensive form. Ward finished 2-for-3 with a walk.

Sydney responded in the bottom of the third in unconventional fashion. With runners on the corners and two outs, Eric Rataczak was picked off attempting to steal second, but his delay allowed Michael Campbell to score from third, trimming the deficit to 2–1.

The momentum swung decisively in the fourth inning. With the bases loaded and one out, Giants manager Chris Adamson requested a foreign substance check on Sydney starter Coen Wynne a moment that appeared to disrupt the Blue Sox rhythm.

Two pitchers later, Ben Fierenzi punched a two-run single down the first base line, followed by RBI hits from Yusei Ishizuka and Nick Ward. Jordan McArdle then worked a bases-loaded walk, stretching the lead to 6–1.

Adelaide added further insurance in the fifth when Drew Davies launched a two-run home run the first of his ABL career to make it 8–1.

Batting eighth and ninth, Davies and Fierenzi combined to go 4-for-6 with four RBIs, accounting for half of the Giants’ run production.

Sydney mounted a late rally, capitalising on a bases-loaded error at first base before Anthony Huezo added an RBI single to cut the margin to 8–4. Giants starter Tomoki Tamura shut the door, inducing a swinging strikeout to escape the inning.

Tamura delivered his strongest outing of the season, throwing five innings and allowing just one earned run on seven hits, with one walk and four strikeouts. Ky Hampton closed the game with two perfect innings in relief.

GAME 2: Adelaide Giants 4 def Sydney Blue Sox 3

The nightcap delivered even more drama, as Adelaide completed the Saturday sweep with a thrilling 4–3 victory.

With the game tied at three in the top of the ninth inning and two outs, Yusei Ishizuka came through in the clutch, lining a go-ahead single to give the Giants the lead.

Earlier, right-hander Yamato Shiroki was dominant. The 23-year-old carried a perfect game into the sixth inning and finished with one hit allowed, one unearned run, one walk, and nine strikeouts in a brilliant performance.

Yu Aramaki provided the early fireworks, launching a three-run home run in the first inning to give Adelaide a 3–0 advantage.

Sydney refused to go quietly, breaking up the perfect game in the sixth before tying the contest in the eighth. With two outs and two strikes, Jo Stevens delivered a clutch two-run single to level the score at three.

Adelaide responded immediately.

After Ishizuka’s decisive hit, Todd Van Steensel closed out the game in the bottom of the ninth, securing the save and sealing a dramatic road win.
