The Monochrome GT4 Australia Series is set to deliver thrilling action as it returns to Sydney Motorsport Park for Round 2 of the 2025 season, taking place from May 2–4 as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries GT Festival. A robust 31-car grid will compete in two one-hour races, including a Saturday evening race under the lights, promising an exciting spectacle for motorsport fans.
The Sydney round features a mix of seasoned competitors and fresh faces. Reigning Silver-Am champion Shane Smollen makes his season debut in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS, prepared by Method Motorsport. Also returning is the McLaren 570S GT4 of Anthony Soole and Grant Denyer.
Notable entries include Marcus LaDelle and Jarrod Keyte in a new Ford Mustang GT4 under the 99motorsport banner, and Aaron Seton teaming up with Jason Gomersall in another Mustang GT4 for Gomersall Motorsport.
The grid showcases a variety of manufacturers, including BMW, Mercedes-AMG, McLaren, Porsche, Toyota, Audi, and Ginetta. Teams like Method Motorsport, TekworkX, and Gomersall Motorsport field multiple entries, highlighting the series’ growth. The competition spans several classes—Silver, Silver-Am, and Am—ensuring battles throughout the field.
Event Schedule and Fan Experience
The weekend kicks off with practice and pre-qualifying sessions on Friday. Saturday features two qualifying sessions in the morning, followed by the first one-hour race in the evening. The second race takes place on Sunday.
Fans attending the GT Festival can enjoy over 15 hours of on-track action, with five categories racing both during the day and under lights. Tickets start at $35 for a single day or $60 for a weekend pass, which includes free paddock access, various vantage points, Park and View, the Pit Lane Walk, and entry to the popular GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS and Monochrome GT4 Australia grid walks.
